Hustle announce coaching teams for The Fly 2022
Hustle has announced its women’s and men’s coaching teams for The Fly 2022.
For the women’s team, Evie Stephens is making the step up to Head Coach after a successful stint as Assistant coach at last year’s competition.
She’ll be backed up by the skills of Assistant Coach, Ravi K. Sitlani, who was an Assistant Coach for Swift last year.
It’s an all new coaching team on the men’s side with Head Coach Alex Carnegie-Brown and Assistant Coach, Andy Downing taking the helm.
Stephens has been a coach on the England Lacrosse Talent Pathway since 2014 and is now working with the country’s best young talent in the England Lacrosse Girls’ National Academy.
She has also coached numerous teams in the South West and at BUCS Premiership level.
Sitlani brings over 30 years of experience to his Assistant Coach role with Hustle across his time at Stockport Lacrosse Club, on England Lacrosse Academy programmes and at three World and three European Championships with the England senior men’s squad.
Carnegie-Brown has been a successful talent coach for more than a decade and most recently England women’s U23 Head Coach.
She brings a record of coaching success on the world stage to Hustle with bronze medals at senior and U19 World Championships as part of the coaching staff as well as an U19 World Championships bronze medal winner herself as a player.
Finally, a former England field and box lacrosse player, Downing has since turned his attention to coaching with senior and junior groups at Heaton Mersey Lacrosse Club.
He has also been a driving force in coaching box lacrosse, helping to found Northern Box Lacrosse five years ago, alongside being a member of the England senior coaching staff including as part of the side’s fourth place finish at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in 2019.
Downing is currently an Assistant Coach with the British Lacrosse men’s squad competing at next year’s World Games, gaining valuable sixes coaching experience ahead of The Fly 2022.
