Swift announce coaching teams for The Fly 2022

Swift has announced its men’s and women’s coaching teams for The Fly 2022.

Raj Rout and Kieran Pegrum-Milner, both making their debuts at this year’s event, will take on the respective Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles with the women’s team.

While Richard Gartside and Glenn Humphreys, again making their first appearances at The Fly this year, will lead the men’s team as Head Coach and Assistant Coach respectively.

Rout is a highly knowledgeable coach with extensive coaching experience on his record across multiple levels of the game.

He’s been involved with the Wales women’s national team for more than a decade, serving in multiple roles including Head Coach and Performance Director.

He’s also coached SEWLA club Centaurs to National and European Club Championships, BUCS Premier side Oxford University, and is currently South East Senior Regional Coach.

Pegrum-Milner comes to The Fly with coaching experience across the full breadth of the sport from club to international lacrosse.

He is Portugal Senior Men’s Head Coach, Coach with the Wales U19 women’s programme as well as a coach for the women’s team at last year’s Home Nations 6s competition, and he also coaches at Centaurs Lacrosse Club and at Claremont Fan Court School.

Gartside was England U19 men’s Head Coach at the 2012 World Championships finishing 4th, and U23 Head Coach in 2018 for the team’s Japan tour.

In addition, he heads up the North Girls’ Regional Academy and in previous years has coached Rochdale Lacrosse Club to multiple promotions, senior Flags final, and a top three finish in the Premiership.

Humphreys played for England for almost a decade, featuring in both World and European Championships.

He has years of experience coaching on the England Lacrosse Talent Pathway and has also coached across all sections of the club game from U12 through to seniors.
